BIOGRAPHY:
Dr Susan Gamache is a Registered Psychologist, Marriage
& Family Therapist (AAMFT) and mediator in private practice
in Vancouver. She is also a presenter, writer, media consultant
and Collaborative Family Law divorce coach and trainer.
Susan has worked with individuals, couples, and families
in general practice for 12 years with a specialty in couple
and family therapy. Her area of most specific focus has
been separation, divorce and remarriage. She draws from
a wide range of therapeutic approaches, both individual
and systemic, utilizing physical, emotional, cognitive,
social and spiritual aspects of client's experience. In
addition, she has conducted award-winning research on
divorce and remarriage, provided workshops for professionals
and for the public, and has numerous academic and professional
publications on divorce and remarriage. Susan has also
appeared on television and radio programs as a consultant
in these areas.
Dr. Susan Gamache, together with Nancy Cameron, was the
original mental health co-chair of The Vancouver Collaborative
Separation and Divorce Group. She has worked in collaborative
practice since 1999, conducting training in Inter-disicplinary
Collaborative Law since 2001. She has acted as adjunct
professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of British
Columbia, co-teaching a full term course on Inter-disciplinary
Collaborative Law with Nancy Cameron. Dr. Gamache is a
passionate advocate for the strengths that a multi-disciplinary
collaborative group can offer separating couples, has
written articles and has presented extensively to groups
and conferences on the collaborative model. Together with
Nancy Cameron, she was course co-ordinator for the award
winning Collaborative divorce training offered through
British Columbia Continuing Legal Education, which won
the international ACLEA award for Professional Excellence
(top award) in the Best Program category. Susan is a board
member with the International Academy of Collaborative
Professionals. |
