BIOGRAPHY:
Divorce is usually approached as a legal process with
an emotional component, but, for the family, I believe
it is experienced more as an emotional process with a
legal component.
Divorce is a significant transition for an individual
and their family. It can create extreme stress and anxiety.
While change can be difficult, Mark believes the process
you go through toward reaching a satisfying agreement
is a fundamental step toward uncoupling successfully and
moving on with your life. A smooth transition also contributes
to the emotional stability of your children, if you have
them and to effective co-parenting.
As a Divorce Coach Mark works with you toward keeping
the collaborative process moving forward toward a satisfactory
resolution for all involved. As one client said, “a
win-win-win” for both parties and their children.
In addition to being a Divorce Coach, Mark is a Marital
& Family Therapist and has been working with Individuals,
Couples and Families since 1980. He works primarily from
a Family Systems approach exploring how family shapes
an individual and how an individual shapes their family.
If you have children you are their “family of origin.”
As you move through separation and divorce you are shaping
their world and your ability to make this transition effectively
has implications toward their future and what story they
tell about their family.
Mark is currently Co-Chair of the Vancouver Collaborative
Divorce Group. He began working with the group in 2002
and has been on the Collaborative Executive since 2003.
In addition, Mark has been President of the Board of Living
Systems, a Counselling, Training and Research organization
in Vancouver since 2003 and on their Board since 1998.
He has spoken on radio and in the print media regarding
family issues as well as given workshops on preparing
for divorce and what you should know. |
