		BIOGRAPHY: Dr. Bertoia is a Registered Psychologist and Registered Play Therapist in private practice in White Rock and Delta. She is trained in mediation and collaborative intervention and has worked with families and children since 1980. She is an educator - providing parenting workshops and professional development - and an author of two books and numerous articles. She has also personally experienced the advantages of the collaborative divorce process for ending a relationship. As a collaborative coach she provides emotional support, teaches effective communication skills, and helps ensure that the needs, concerns, and feelings of the individuals are understood and contained. She believes that everyone has an innate capacity to heal even from very difficult challenges and works with each couple to help activate that capacity. Her goal is for family members to move into full, meaningful, lives with love and positive relationships in their future. When the family includes children, she discusses parenting concerns and also provides very specific education for telling the children about changes in the family and for developing effective co-parenting techniques. As a collaborative coach she focuses on helping the family retain positive, respectful attitudes towards each other in spite of difficult issues that surface during this challenging process
