		BIOGRAPHY: Dr. Bertoia is a Registered Psychologist and a Registered Play Therapist in private practice in White Rock and Delta. She is trained in mediation and collaborative intervention and has worked with families and children since 1980. She is an educator, providing parenting workshops and professional development, and an author of two books and numerous articles. Through years of working in the public education system she became very aware of how often even effective parenting skills suffer during the challenges of ending a marriage. As a child specialist she concentrates on helping the family retain positive, respectful attitudes towards each other in spite of difficult issues that surface during this challenging process. As a child specialist she focuses on your children's needs in the separation process. With specialized training in child development and expertise related to children of divorce, she work as an independent advocate for children, providing each child with a safe place to share their feelings and express their needs. As a child specialist she works to ensure that the emotional needs and concerns of each child are being considered by both parents and all members of the team with a view towards developing effective co-parenting plans and techniques.
