BIOGRAPHY:
Life is wealth. Plan to make the best of it.
As a Certified Financial Planner, with over 25
years experience in the financial services industry, Erika
works with many time-stressed female professionals and
businesswomen.
She is a "deep generalist" with an excellent understanding
of the many complexities of financial planning that affect
her clients' financial and personal lives. Close relationships
are established with other professionals whose expertise
can be accessed when needed.
As a Professional Retirement Planner, Erika has
additional education in helping her clients to manage
the "softer" issues of retirement, such as lifestyle planning,
the impact of aging, and other related topics.
As a Financial Divorce Specialist (FDS), Erika
has received specialized training in the financial issues
of divorce through the Academy of Financial Divorce Specialists.
A FDS must also fulfill the continuing education requirements
and adhere to the Code of Ethics prescribed through the
Academy.
A FDS takes all of the financial issues into consideration
and by using a specialized software program, accurately
projects the long-term effects of any given proposed divorce
settlement. The final result is shown in charts and graphs
that can reveal consequences to one spouse, which may
lead to quite a different conclusion about what is financially
equitable.
Some of the issues addressed by FDS are:
- how to ensure spousal and/or child support is maintained
in the event of death or disability of the paying
spouse
- income tax and estate implications of separation
of assets -are the right assets being transferred?
- equitable, not just equal, division of assets
- future financial security for the individuals involved
