BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Swain is a Registered Psychologist with over 20 years of experience in counselling teens and adults. He has over 30 years of experience working with elementary and secondary students and their parents. He has been a sessional instructor in the University of B.C. graduate Counselling Psychology programme for over 20 years and is a clinical associate with the Clinical Psychology Departement of Simon Fraser University. In a former career, he was a physical education teacher and college athletic director and basketball coach.
He frequently works with couples who are in conflict with each other and/or with their children. He is a founding executive member of the B.C. Roster of Parenting Co-ordinators, who are specially trained to offer an alternative dispute resolution process for divorced couples. He has served 8 consecutive years as an elected board member of the College of Psychologists of British Columbia, the regulatory body for psychologists in that province, and is now serving on the board of the B.C. Psychological Association. |
